Captain America The Chosen by BrianReber Captain America The Chosen by BrianReber
Here's a preview at my upcoming Captain America project through Marvel comics. It's called "Captain America: The Chosen" and it's a stand alone 6 issue series. Mitchell Breitweiser did the lines and I did the colors.

I think this is a truly stunning piece of work. First off, the entire scene looks so surreal. I've seen people draw super heroes and neglect that their skin-tight fabric is still fabric - no fold whatsoever. But I see some wonderful fabricated folds here. Secondly, the helmet made me feel fuzzy and warm inside with the picture of the kid. And finally, the entire color scheme with muted hues and the bright spotlight truly made a rough, hard-working atmosphere that seem to pale in comparison to the Cap's friendly expression. Simply a splendid piece of work.
crazygnome12 Featured By Owner Jul 5, 2007
This is great! I really get the feeling that in the middle of some sort of panic, Cap is there offering protection. I also love the photo on the helmet. :+fav:

When is the project due to ship?
tsilvers Featured By Owner Jun 17, 2007
Very cool. It reminds me of Cassaday's CA. Best of luck with your project, but I am not very happy with Marvel "milking" this thing with all of the tie-ins they're doing. I did like the one Fallen Son issue (#3, I LCS slipped it into my box unbeknownst to me) but I'd rather they move on with the story and not delay the regular title just so that they can prep to push new Cap projects on those of us who want to read the story. But, I know. It's business. And it creates work for fine artists like yourselves. And I do see that as a good thing. My wallet, however, will tell me that I can't buy these books.
BrianReber Featured By Owner Jun 17, 2007  Professional Digital Artist
Well this series was planned and created before they decided to kill him off. It's taken us about 2 years to complete it. It has nothing to do with any of the other Cap series. It's completely stand alone. This book isn't effecting any of the other stories nor does it have anything to do with the current storyline.
tsilvers Featured By Owner Jun 17, 2007
Thanks for explaining. I didn't mean to put down your work or the project, it's just a personal beef I have with companies that do things like this sometimes. But the art looks great and Cap is one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I will definitely be on the lookout for this one.
